"Die Macht der Vorurteile – Rassismus bewusst verlernen!" is a 45-minute documentary by Denise Dismer and John A. Kantara, produced for 3sat's "WissenHoch2" strand and first broadcast on 25 February 2021. The film draws on contemporary social-science research and the lived experience of Black people and People of Color in Germany to show where everyday racism happens, how it shapes institutions from healthcare to schools, and why it can be "unlearned." The documentary cites evidence that Black patients and People of Color are diagnosed later, receive lower doses of pain medication for comparable conditions and experience poorer medical outcomes – a pattern also visible in the COVID-19 pandemic. Interviewing researchers, educators and activists, the film argues that the assumption of white superiority is not a fringe problem but a mainstream reflex absorbed through media, schools and workplaces, and that conscious awareness is the first concrete step toward dismantling it.
